Dr. Josef A. Passley is a psychotherapist,
consultant, educator, and author of Single
Parenting in the 21st Century and Beyond. He holds degrees in Clinical
Psychology (PhD), Counseling Psychology (MA), Counseling (BS), and Bible
(AS). His professional background is attributed to experience in providing
mental health services to children, adolescents in inpatient, partial
hospitalization, and respite programs as well as to children, adolescents,
adults, individuals, couples, and families in therapy settings and outpatient
mental health treatment programs at John’s Hopkins Bayview Medical
Center and Sheppard & Enoch Pratt Psychiatric Hospital.
Dr. Passley is a giver of knowledge and is committed to growing others. He has conducted professional and academic presentations both nationally and internationally. They include but are not limited to lecturing and leading round table discussions for other professionals, from around the world, sponsored by the University of Oxford’s Round Table in Oxford, England and presenting case studies at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Community Psychiatry Department. He has been a radio guest on WOLB 1010 AM (Baltimore)/1450 AM (Washington, D.C.) and other media throughout the country addressing topics that include: “Children and Holiday Depression,” “Paternal Absence and its impact on society,” “Young children and aggression in the classroom,” “Societal and Mental Health Implications of Hurricane Katrina,” and “Nurturing your child’s self-esteem. Dr. Passley has been dedicated to learning and sharing his expertise with others as an educator in the graduate school programs at Johns Hopkins University, the University of Baltimore, and Lancaster Bible College.
